Why Did You Start Your Business?

I love leadership, life-long learning, teaching, coaching and supporting people’s business & personal success. I worked in the field of ‘conventional’ education for years but when I saw a continued need for more strategic learning and expertise in the start up and business world, I got my coaching certification and have found business coaching much more satisfying for me than the classroom. Certain principles of achievement work to create intentional change, and there is no mystery to building a successful change strategy.

What's Your Neigbourhood And Why Do You Love It?

I went from Vancouver, to North Vancouver in the last decade. Even though I grew up in Winnipeg, I love my neighbourhoods now because there are so many people opting for life in the entrepreneurial realm. Especially compared to that one ‘set’ job that folks in my grandparents’ generation experienced. There’s so much innovation happening in our world and it’s exciting to learn about and be part of Vancouver/North Van’s community.

Collaborating with good people is the best thing I’ve done. Trying to ‘do it all alone’ and not ask for support and help is always the worst.

I love our local yoga studios and farmer’s markets. Business-wise I support a range of innovators, creatives, and tech types because I love entrepreneurs who have the courage to open shop and provide services that bring more emotional intelligence and connection to our world. I love our local ‘mompreneur’ community. The girls in our family love Lunapads, Vancouver Mom and Nicole Bridger.
