Eternal Abundance is Vancouver’s only all organic, vegan, and gluten-free market and cafe located in the heart of Commercial Drive. Our mission is to provide a space to explore healthy living and sustainability. Our market has fresh fruit & veggies, dried foods, herbs & spices, superfoods, books and DVDs, all offered with Zero Waste principles and sourced as close to home as possibleand from small local businesses that demonstrate high integrity in their sourcing and business practices. The cafe offers a wide array of raw and cooked dishes prepared in small batches and assembled to order. We offer juices, smoothies, salad, sushi rolls, burgers, pastas, or desserts; daily soup, chili, or roasted veggies bowls. Occasionally we host documentary screenings, cooking classes, and expert talks on health and well-being, social justice issues, and the environment.

Why Did You Start Your Business?

I joined Eternal Abundance because I want to share my ethic for sustainable cruelty free living. I love purchasing from my neighbours and friends to together make the world a little healthier.

We’re located on Commercial Drive and there’s such a variety of people living and working here. It’s very multicultural, environmentally and socially aware, and artistic. The neighbourhood is friendly and more relaxed than other parts of town.

Why Is Local Important To You?

Local is important for so many reasons. I want to employ my neighbour farmers with rewarding healthy jobs, the same as with my staff. Local jobs and companies keep money circulating more than foreign companies. And local means less transportation = less GHGs = a healthier planet.

How Do You Support Other Local Businesses?

We purchase from small artisan producers, small family spice and tea companies, and local farmer and suppliers. At least 90% of our suppliers are in the Vancouver area.

You Are Excited About The Future Because…

The recent political downturn in the US is finally waking up people to take action. More people than ever are speaking out against oppressive and harmful practices and realizing the voting power they have with their dollars. We have a long way to go to turn around our practices but I’m hopeful that we’re at a turning point of massive social change.
